The A6040355R bowl is the unscrewable part of the two-piece IVAR.BIG.200 filter in size 20", into which the filter cartridge is inserted. Like the filter head, it is made of polypropylene (PP). It is used to replace a damaged bowl or when servicing the filter, which removes mechanical impurities such as sand, swarf or small corrosion particles from the water.

Changing the cartridge and operation
The bowl is loosened by turning it, usually by hand; if it is stuck, the IVAR.BIG mounting wrench (IVAAVABIG) helps. First place the cartridge in the bowl, then fit the bowl onto the filter head and tighten it by hand. After filling with water, check for leaks and vent the filter using the valve at the top. Clean the cartridge at the latest when the pressure difference reaches 0.5 bar; a pressure gauge before and after the filter is recommended for monitoring it.
The filter is intended for the delivery side of a pump or for a water supply with a pressure reducing valve and an expansion vessel. Without an expansion vessel, a buffer pressure tank of at least 2 l must be installed upstream of the filter, and a pressure reducing valve if the pressure exceeds 8 bar. The installation location must be frost-free (permanently above 5 °C) and protected from direct sunlight.

What pressure can the bowl withstand?
