How it seals
Mayline 35L from the Italian manufacturer Maychem is introduced into the heating circuit with a filling pump and seals the leak mechanically from the outside. It only works in the presence of oxygen. The seal it forms stays slightly elastic, so it copes with the different thermal expansion of materials, for example between metal joints and plastic pipes. The product is intended for systems with a daily leak of up to 35 litres and can also be used in systems with an open expansion tank.

Application
Before sealing, clean the system with a cleaning fluid such as Mayline SB and determine its volume and the size of the daily leak. Remove the filter cartridges or open the filter bypasses, fully open the radiator valves and mixing valves, and set the boiler temperature and pressure to maximum. Bleed the circulation pumps and leave them running, shake the canister well and introduce the product with the filling pump; then bleed the pumps again. The application time is at least 7 hours at a temperature at least 5 °C and a pressure at least 0.7 bar above normal operation; the instructions recommend running the system at the maximum set temperature for at least 9 hours.
After sealing, drain the fluid, flush the system and fill it with a protective fluid. The self-sealing fluid may remain in the system for a maximum of 30 days.
Safety: irritating to eyes, skin and respiratory tract – wear gloves and safety goggles, keep out of the reach of children and protect from frost. Do not mix with other chemical products. The same product is also available in a 5 l pack (IVA5/MY35L).

Frequently asked questions
How large a leak can Mayline 35L seal?
The product is intended for heating systems that lose no more than 35 litres of water per day. The daily leak and the system volume must therefore be determined before use.
How much product do I need?
The dosage is 1–2% of the water volume, i.e. 1–2 litres per 100 litres. The 1 l pack is therefore enough for a system of approximately 50 to 100 litres.
Can the fluid stay in the system permanently?
No. After sealing it is drained and the system flushed; it may remain in the circuit for a maximum of 30 days. The system is then filled with a protective fluid.
Can Mayline 35L be combined with antifreeze?
Yes, it can be mixed with antifreeze or glycol-based heat transfer fluids. It must not be mixed with other chemical products.
