The THERMIA LEGEND 4 WW (code IHPWW0204592) is the smallest model of the LEGEND range – successor to the well-known Thermia Diplomat – in the water-to-water version. It extracts heat from ground or surface water and delivers it to the heating system at flow temperatures up to 60 °C. It suits new builds and renovations alike; the LEGEND WW range covers heat losses up to 16 kW.

Water-to-water version

The water version is supplied with the heat exchanger and flow sensor, and using them is a condition of the warranty. The circuit between the exchanger and the heat pump is filled with ethanol-based antifreeze with a freezing point of -17 ± 2 °C. With the expansion module it can handle an additional mixed circuit, pool heating and cooling.

Installation

Output is sized with the Thermia HPC software. The heat pump belongs in a frost-free room on a load-bearing floor (336 kg with a full cylinder), not in a corner. The heating system water volume must be at least 14 l per kW, and a magnetic dirt separator with filter is fitted in the return. The IVAR.TER-PS connection fitting for LEGEND 4–10 (IHP08645675) and the heating circuit safety valve are not included. Installation is done by a qualified company; work on the refrigerant circuit only by a competent person.

What is included with the WW version?
The water version includes the heat exchanger and flow sensor, which must be used for the warranty to apply. Safety valves of 9 and 3 bar, an outdoor sensor, a ball valve with filter and a filling unit are also supplied; the IVAR.TER-PS connection fitting is ordered separately.

How much hot water is available?
A 184 l stainless steel cylinder with TWS technology is built into the heat pump. Hot water production takes priority over space heating.

Can the LEGEND also provide cooling?
Yes, with the expansion module. For cooling, the manufacturer recommends a cooling module for passive or passive and active cooling.

Can the LEGEND work with a PV system?
Yes, the heat pump has a built-in Smart Grid function that lets it respond to signals from the photovoltaic system.
