Water treatment unit - with reverse osmosis and filtration, 450x360x194mm
Code: ESMO550MPECORelated products
Product detailed description
What it is used for
IVAR.MO550 is a home reverse osmosis system for further treatment of cold water from the mains supply. According to the manufacturer, it removes up to 99.8% of harmful substances including PFAS, chlorine, bacteria, heavy metals and nitrates. The final stage adds minerals such as calcium and magnesium back into the water, improving its taste. The unit has an integrated pump and is designed for installation under a kitchen sink.
Five stages of treatment
- Stage 1 – pre-filter 5 µm PP (melt-blown)
- Stage 2 – block of compressed activated carbon (CTO)
- Stage 3 – pre-filter 1 µm PP (melt-blown)
- Stage 4 – RO membrane 50 GPD (approximately 190 l per day)
- Stage 5 – mineralization cartridge
Equipment and operation
The package includes a filtration body with a pump, a pressure tank with a volume of 12 l (of which 5 l are immediately available), a chrome-coated tap with a ball valve, an installation kit with a water inlet adapter and waste connection, four colored hoses and service keys. The unit is powered from a 230 V socket with a protective conductor and must always be connected to a gravity drainage outlet. It operates at an input water pressure of 2 to 5 bar and water temperature of +4 to +30 °C; a pressure regulator must be installed on the inlet.
According to the instructions, pre-filters should be replaced every 3 months, the mineralizing insert every 6 months, and the membrane once a year. Installation and electrical connections must be carried out by a qualified professional.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the water treatment unit installed?
IVAR.MO550 is used for further treatment of cold mains water and is usually mounted in a kitchen cabinet under the sink. Treated water is drawn from a separate chrome-coated tap with a ball valve, which is part of the package.
What needs to be prepared before installation?
Cold water supply with a pressure of 2 to 5 bar and a pressure regulator at the inlet, connection to a gravity drainage system and a 230 V socket with a protective conductor. Installation must be performed by a qualified professional.
How often should the filters be changed?
Filters of the first to third stage every 3 months, the mineralization cartridge every 6 months, and the RO membrane once a year. With poorer quality of incoming water, the intervals may be shorter.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
