Metallic sludge and magnetic particles that form over the years in the closed heating circuit can damage the circulation pump or reduce the efficiency of the boiler's heat exchanger. This separator captures them using a magnet built directly into the brass body, so it is sufficient to drain and clean it occasionally during service - no filter inserts or moving parts are required.
