IVAR.RV 01 (code 501383) is an electric actuator with axial stroke that fits onto the valve via the supplied adapter with an M30 × 1.5 thread. It is intended primarily for the VARIMIX IVAR.VAR 21 mixed boiler module with a thermostatic control insert, but is also suitable for controlling 2-way and 3-way valves in heating and cooling. It receives its control signal from a room thermostat or an electronic controller.
24 V supply and proportional 0–10 V control
The actuator is powered by 24 V AC (−10 to +20 %, 50–60 Hz) or 24 V DC (±20 %) and sets its stroke in proportion to the 0–10 V control signal on the red wire; the black wire is supply L1 (+), the blue one L2 (−) and earth. The LCD display alternately shows the position and the applied control voltage, an arrow for the direction of movement and, in the event of a fault, an error code (E6 – wrong position, E8 – internal error). The 3 × 0.22 mm² cable is detachable; power consumption is 2.6 VA / 1.4 W and weight 155 g. It must be supplied from a safety isolating transformer to EN 61558-2-6, sized at 3 W per actuator.
Installation and operation
- the actuator is supplied with the shaft retracted and must only be fitted in this state – screw the adapter onto the valve by hand, then push the actuator on until it clicks
- any mounting position
- multicolour LED: green (10 s) – ready for operation, red – fault
- with no voltage applied, the stem position can be set by hand with a 0.3 × 2 mm screwdriver under the top cap
- after a brief power interruption a new stroke initialisation runs, for example after a valve replacement
- to prevent tampering, the actuator can be secured by removing the fixing element
Protection rating IP54. Installation and electrical connection may only be carried out by a person with appropriate electrical qualifications.
