Building or renovating a property involves a great many decisions that will affect how comfortable your home is for a long time to come. Heating is one of them. Whether you opt for underfloor heating or conventional radiators, you will need to control the temperature in the house. That is what a thermostat is for. You should not, however, leave the choice entirely to your heating engineer. We recommend looking into the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of device so that you can decide according to what you expect from your thermostat.

The most widely used thermostats are programmable room thermostats. Based on your settings, they let you control both the daytime and the night-time temperature, and even set a programme up to a week in advance.
Reliable devices that are easy to operate
You will appreciate the versatility of the Avansa 2007 thermostat, which can be connected to a boiler as well as to an air-conditioning unit. It reliably heats or cools the room to the required temperature while keeping an eye on your wallet, because its multiple temperature settings help to reduce your energy costs. It can be set to as many as 6 programmes a day, and you can choose a different target temperature for each switch-on. The Avansa 2007 thermostat is one of the simpler models, and its features will reliably meet the needs of less demanding customers.
A versatile thermostat with convenient controls
If you are a more demanding user and would welcome more sophisticated temperature settings, the Euroster Q7 thermostat, also known as the EQ7, will please you with its additional functions. This modern, intelligent device lets you set up to nine different time periods for each day of the week, with a different temperature for each period. You can even change the temperature during the day. Another benefit of the thermostat is that it can be set independently to reach the optimum temperature at the required time. To make it even easier to use, the thermostat has a rotary dial on the outside. You use it to scroll through the individual functions and confirm your selection with the OK button. All of this is clearly shown on the backlit display as you set it.
The thermostat's economy is rounded off by the three-year life of its AA batteries. Even when they do run out, you need not worry about having to reset the thermostat, as your settings remain stored in the device's memory. To prevent your home from overheating or cooling down too much, the Euroster Q7 thermostat lets you set the so-called hysteresis for switching the boiler on and off. The boiler will then switch on and off every hour, for example.
A thermostat that is not just for holiday cottages
You will find more advanced functions in the Salus 091FL thermostat. This thermostat with a programme that can be set a week ahead can be connected to almost all gas and electric boilers, as well as to wood, pellet or coal boilers that support on/off switching. Do not forget to set the daytime and the reduced night-time temperature too. If you fancy a little more warmth even in setback mode, you can go into the settings manually and raise the temperature whenever you like. With the Salus 091FL thermostat we also recommend setting the boiler switching differential, so that the boiler fires less often. Owners of cottages or weekend houses will certainly also welcome the frost protection, which is activated when the temperature falls below 7°C.

The thermostats listed above are attractively designed, so each of them will fit easily into a modern interior. They also offer functions that meet your needs and, what is more, they are easy to operate. If you still cannot choose from our range of thermostats, or are unsure how to operate them, contact the experts at ATRIA, who will be happy to advise you.
