Calcium and magnesium salts, which make up most of the water hardness, are the main cause of scale in boilers, water heaters and pipework. WHEELY SOFT is a mobile unit that captures these salts on a special food-grade resin before the water enters the heating circuit. The manufacturer recommends using it when the water hardness exceeds approximately 10 – 15 °f.
How it is used
The softener is supplied assembled and ready for immediate use. One reinforced hose is connected from the mains water to the valve inlet, the other from the valve outlet directly to the filling point of the heating system. After opening the two black taps behind the control valve and the main supply, the system fills with softened water. The unit is intended for mains water only – for well or borehole water, approval from the supplier's technical department must first be requested with a current water analysis.
Regeneration and checks
When the capacity is exhausted, the resin is regenerated with a solution of regeneration salt (brine), with the outlet routed to the drain. The remaining brine can be drained through the tap at the bottom and kept for the next regeneration. Outlet hardness is checked every two months with a tester (e.g. AV202) and should be 0 °f after regeneration. The battery-powered control unit displays the time and the remaining and already delivered quantity of softened water.

Can I use it for well water?
The unit is intended for mains water. For well or borehole water, approval must first be obtained from the supplier's technical department with a current water analysis.
