The IVAR.DEFEMN 060 CR1 filter (code IVA.106.DFCR1) is designed for treating drinking and process water. Its Crystal Right type filling traps iron, manganese and ammonium ions and lowers total hardness at the same time – the water is thus de-ironed, demanganised and softened in one go. The programmable WSCI electronics control regeneration by time or by volume and allow the outlet water hardness to be set. A mixing bypass brine tank with a brine line is included.

Filling maintenance

To keep its exchange capacity, the filling must be regenerated and cleaned with a sodium carbonate (soda ash) solution at least once a year. To neutralise the carbon dioxide the filling gradually absorbs during operation, the CR CLEAR cleaning agent (code 1003015005, 5 l canister) is used at a dose of 0.1 l per litre of filling.

Installation and commissioning

• a drain connection of sufficient capacity and a 230 V socket within cable reach are required
• for regular backwashing at least 3 bar at a flow of 3.6 m³/h must be available for 20 to 30 minutes
• the plant includes a mechanical impurity filter (e.g. GEL.DEPURA), sampling valves, shut-off valves, pressure gauges and a bypass
• installation may be done by a local firm according to the diagram, but commissioning must be carried out by an authorised company, otherwise the right to warranty repairs is lost
