Column filter IVAR.DEFEMN 060 EM for removing iron and manganese from water – 1" connection
Code: IVA.106.DFEMProduct detailed description
The IVAR.DEFEMN 060 EM (code IVA.106.DFEM) is a column filter for treating drinking and process water. It traps iron, manganese and ammonium ions and simultaneously lowers total hardness, so the water is softened as well. It is controlled by the programmable WSCI electronics by time or by volume, and the outlet hardness is adjustable. A separate brine tank with a brine line is included; the unit is certified for drinking water.
Dimensions and connections
- filter 365 × 365 × 1531 mm (W × D × H), inlet/outlet connection 1"
- brine tank 382 × 382 × 880 mm
- leave at least 200 mm of free space above the unit plus room for the connections
Operating conditions
- max. operating pressure 6 bar, treated water temperature 5–35 °C
- dry room at 5–40 °C with a level, load-bearing floor
- connection to a drain of sufficient capacity and to the 230 V mains
- backwashing requires at least 3 bar at a flow of 3.6 m³/h for 20 to 30 minutes
- regeneration salt GEL.SŮL CS (code 410.600.44CS)
Installation and commissioning
The treatment plant includes a filter for mechanical impurities (e.g. GEL.DEPURA), sampling valves, shut-off valves, pressure gauges, a drain connection and a bypass for the whole plant and for the filter itself. Seal plastic connections with PTFE material. Before start-up, the outlet valve must be closed so that unflushed water does not enter the building pipework. Commissioning and setting of the outlet hardness are carried out by an authorised technician by arrangement with IVAR service. The amount of substances removed and the filter capacity depend on the analysis of the incoming water. The warranty on material defects is 24 months.

Frequently asked questions
What does the IVAR.DEFEMN 060 EM filter remove from water?
It traps iron, manganese and ammonium ions and at the same time lowers the total hardness of the water. It is designed for drinking and process water.
What needs to be prepared for installation?
A drain connection, a 230 V socket, a mechanical impurity filter upstream, shut-off and sampling valves, pressure gauges and a bypass. Backwashing requires at least 3 bar at 3.6 m³/h for 20 to 30 minutes.
Who commissions the unit?
Start-up and setting of the parameters, including outlet hardness, are done by an authorised technician by arrangement with IVAR service. Until then the filter outlet valve must stay closed.
Which salt is used for regeneration?
Pure tablet salt GEL.SŮL CS, code 410.600.44CS, which is placed in the brine tank.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
