The IVAR.DEFEMN 200-5 (code IVA.120.DF5) is a column filter for removing iron and manganese from drinking and service water. Delivery includes the programmable, fully electronic WSCI control unit with five buttons, which controls regeneration by time or by volume. For correct operation the filter is supplemented with a proportional dosing pump that doses sodium hypochlorite at a concentration in line with drinking water parameters.

Connection and start-up

The plant includes shut-off and sampling valves, pressure gauges, a bypass, a drain (e.g. transparent garden hose), a dosing pump, a pulse water meter and a stock solution tank; a granular activated carbon filter is recommended at the outlet. Do not swap inlet and outlet – the flow direction is shown by arrows on the head's inlet pipes. After installation the customer flushes the filter in BACKWASH mode at a minimum of 3 bar until clear water runs from the drain; only then does the technician commission it and set the dosing, with approximately 3 l of oxidising agent needed for start-up. Installation may be done by a local firm, but commissioning must be carried out by an authorised company, otherwise the right to warranty repairs is lost.
