The NW 800 model, code 1602010003, is a flanged filter for mechanical impurities designed for high water flow rates – an average of 32 m³/h at a pressure drop of 0.2 bar. In the filter head the water first passes through centrifugal pre-filtration with a cyclone effect and then through a nylon cartridge with 25 µm porosity and a filtration surface of 1288 cm². Trapped sand, soil or rust is flushed to the drain by the water when the flush-out valve is opened. The filter is made by the Belgian company AIRWATEC (CINTROPUR brand), and its materials are suitable for drinking water and the food industry.

Applications

In industry it protects sanitary fittings and machine tools; in agriculture it filters water for irrigation and livestock watering, rainwater and water from wells and tanks. In residential and commercial buildings – hotels, restaurants, schools or apartment blocks – it protects internal pipework and sanitary installations.

Installation and maintenance

The filter is installed at the water inlet after the water meter or pump, with a bypass and shut-off valves; never on the suction side of a pump. The pipework must not carry the weight of the filter (7.4 kg). The flanges attach to the head via a metric M88 × 2.8 thread, so the original supplied parts must be used; their bolts are tightened only moderately – 30 Nm with a flat gasket, 15 Nm with a profiled gasket. Above 10 bar a pressure reducing valve is required upstream of the filter, and in systems without an expansion vessel a buffer pressure vessel of at least 2 l. The cartridge must be cleaned or replaced at a differential pressure of 2 bar, and at least three times a year; 25, 50 and 100 µm cartridges are single-use, while 150 and 300 µm nylon cartridges can be cleaned. Replacement cartridges are supplied in sets of 5 (25 µm: 1702045752). Drinking water systems should be disinfected after installation.

When the pressure difference on the gauges reaches 2 bar, and at the latest three times a year. 25, 50 and 100 µm cartridges are single-use; 150 and 300 µm cartridges can be cleaned and reused.

What is included in the delivery?
Two slip-on DN 80 flanges, two pressure gauges, a fitted 25 µm cartridge, an air vent valve and a wrench for removing the bowl. The stainless steel wall bracket is an optional accessory.

Which bolts and gaskets do I need for the NW 800 flanges?
The flange is fixed with 8 M16 bolts and sealed with a flat EPDM gasket PN 10 or PN 16. The bolts are tightened to 30 Nm with a flat gasket and to 15 Nm with a profiled gasket.

Can the filter be installed on the suction side of a pump?
No, the filter must not be installed on the suction side of a pump or where negative pressure occurs in the supply. It is always installed with a bypass and shut-off valves.
