The GeniaAir Split HA 7-8.2 + GeniaSet + Mipro Sense set is a complete air-source heat pump system from Protherm GeniaAir in the "Split" configuration (outdoor and indoor unit), built on a common technological platform of the Vaillant Group – the same one used for the Vaillant aroTHERM Split series. The outdoor unit HA 7-8.2 operates with refrigerant R32 and in this configuration achieves an energy efficiency class of A+++ A for low-temperature heating (floor heating, or oversized radiators).

What is included in the set
The GeniaAir Split HA 7-8.2 + GeniaSet + Mipro Sense set includes the outdoor unit HA 7-8.2 and is complemented by the indoor unit GeniaSet – a compact combined module that in one housing combines the hydraulic connection of the circuit, an integrated hot water storage tank, an expansion vessel, a circulation pump and safety components. This solution is intended for installations where a compact all-in-one solution with minimal space requirements in the technical room is sought. The indoor controller Mipro Sense is also included for comfortable setting and monitoring of the operation directly from the living space. The refrigerant piping between the outdoor and indoor unit, its insulation and optionally the internet gateway for remote control via a mobile app are added separately according to the length of the route and the customer's requirements.
Why the GeniaAir split heat pump
The split configuration has an advantage over the monoblock in that refrigerant does not flow through the indoor unit, only heating (and optionally hot water) – thus eliminating the risk of freezing of water in the external part of the circuit at extremely low temperatures and also reducing the noise transmitted to the building structure, since the compressor is entirely located outside. The GeniaAir Split series is intended mainly for new buildings and renovations with a low-temperature heating system, where emphasis is placed on high seasonal efficiency (SCOP) and energy efficiency class A+++ A.
Installation and service
We recommend that the installation of the heat pump, connection of the refrigerant circuit and commissioning be entrusted exclusively to an authorized Protherm service partner – only in this way is the correct function and the right to an extended warranty after registration of the device with the manufacturer guaranteed. Before installation, it is necessary to verify the heat loss of the building and choose the correct size of the heating circuit (floor heating, or low-temperature radiators) so that the pump operates in the optimal operating point with the highest efficiency.
Placement and operation of the outdoor unit
We recommend placing the outdoor unit on a solid, flat and sufficiently load-bearing base (concrete slab or consoles anchored to the façade) with anti-vibration pads that limit the transmission of vibration to the building structure. It is necessary to ensure free space for air intake and exhaust (according to the manufacturer's installation instructions) and drainage of condensate, which is formed mainly during the defrosting cycle at negative temperatures. When designing the placement, it is also necessary to take into account noise requirements – especially when installing in close proximity to neighboring plots or residential buildings, where the required distances according to the current noise legislation must be observed.
The heat pump operates even at negative outdoor temperatures, but the performance and efficiency (COP) decrease with decreasing outdoor temperature – therefore, when designing the system, the so-called bivalent point is determined, i.e. the temperature below which (in most installations only a few days a year) an additional heat source may be required, usually an integrated electric heating element in the hydraulic module.

Does the heat pump work in the frost? Yes, units of the GeniaAir series are designed for operation even at significantly negative outdoor temperatures. At low temperatures, automatic defrosting cycles of the outdoor heat exchanger and a slight decrease in the achieved performance and efficiency occur, which is a common feature of all air-source heat pumps.
Can the heat pump be used for cooling in the summer? With a suitable heating system (especially floor heating with active or passive cooling), it is possible to use the cooling function in some configurations – the exact possibility and method of connection is recommended to be discussed with our technician when designing the system.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the "split" and "monoblock" configuration? In the split system, the refrigerant circuit is divided between the outdoor and indoor unit, which are connected by refrigerant piping. Inside the house, only heating (or optionally hot water) flows through the hydraulic module. In the monoblock, the entire refrigerant circuit is enclosed in the outdoor unit and only heating water leads into the house – installation is simpler and does not require work with refrigerant directly at the installation site.
Can this heat pump be used as the only heat source? Yes, with a proper energy design (heat loss of the building, low-temperature heating system – floor heating or larger radiators), this set is designed as a monovalent heat source for heating and hot water. Precise dimensioning is recommended to be verified with our technician according to the specific building.
Is a hot water storage tank required? In sets with GeniaSet, the tank is integrated directly in the indoor unit. In sets with a separate hydraulic module (without GeniaSet), it is necessary to add the TÚV tank separately – we are happy to advise you on the selection of the appropriate size.
How is the Mipro Sense controller operated? Mipro Sense is an indoor control panel with a touch display, which allows setting of heating and cooling circuits, time programs and monitoring of operation. The system is prepared for connection to an internet gateway for remote control via a mobile app (purchased separately, if not part of the set).
What are the service and warranty requirements? We provide a standard legal warranty for the product, an extended warranty is recommended to be handled by registering with the manufacturer after professional installation by an authorized Protherm service partner.

The company Protherm Production is part of the Vaillant Group and is a manufacturer of heating technology for many countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. For the Slovak market, it produces boilers of the Vaillant and Protherm brands. Protherm Production is not only a production plant. It also includes one of the most modern research and development centres, a testing centre and a distribution and logistics centre for Central and Eastern Europe.
The company's beginnings date back to 1991, when it operated as a seller of heating technology in Prague. Production in Skalica was initially launched in the company Didaktik, from where it was moved to the premises of the current plant in 1999. Since 2001, it has been part of the German Vaillant Group.
Three Slovak entities: The Vaillant Group employs more than 1,800 people in Slovakia. In addition to the plant in Skalica, it also owns the company Vaillant Industrial Slovakia in Trenčianske Stankovce, which produces hydraulic modules and pipes. The sales organisation for the Slovak market is the company Vaillant Group Slovakia, which also ensures further customer care and servicing of the products offered.
The Vaillant Group has a history of over 140 years and more than 2,000 patents. It is a leader and pioneer in the field of heating technologies in Europe. It has 10 production plants worldwide (eight in Europe, one in Turkey and one in China) and more than 12,000 employees. Production
Protherm Production produces a wide range of boilers and hot water heating equipment. These include suspended and stationary, condensing and non-condensing boilers, electric boilers, electric water heaters for hot water preparation and indoor units of heat pumps. The most modern electronic work processes are used in Protherm Production, which makes it relatively easy to assemble heating equipment on the production lines. The work process on LCD screens guides employees through the entire assembly process, in both text and visual form. This intelligent electronic system makes production easier and helps avoid errors. In the case of incorrect use of components, it alerts us and stops the assembly of the product on the line.
The production halls of the plant in Skalica are bright, clean and quiet spaces. The goal of Protherm Production is to become a green production facility, so it invests significant financial resources into ecological solutions, innovations and focuses on energy saving.
Research and development centre
One of the most modern research and development centres in Europe is part of Protherm Production. The company can boast of a top-class research and development centre with powerful workstations, a modern laboratory and high-quality equipment. Members of the development team primarily contribute to innovations in current boilers and the introduction of new, more powerful modules. Ideas for new, more efficient products are born here, the design is optimised to improve quality while maintaining or reducing the price, taking into account new technologies and their implementation. In addition, existing boilers are further refined within the entire Vaillant group.
The main tasks of the research and development centre of the Protherm Production plant are the development of hydraulic modules for boilers, gas condensing and non-condensing boilers and electric boilers. We also find here the team of sustainable engineering (Sustaining Engineering) and the team of project and product management. The final form of the product is created thanks to the close cooperation of the development staff of the Protherm Production company with the developers from other companies in the group.
Recently, new departments have also been created within the research and development centre. One of them is the Intellectual Property Department, whose task is to register new patents. We have also expanded the group of simulation engineers, who are experts in CAE simulations.
The research and development centre currently has 63 employees. It also includes an expanded prototype workshop and a modern testing centre. What our developers design is assembled in the prototype workshop, tested in the laboratory and finally introduced into mass production.
