Installation diagrams for heating and water

Are you connecting a boiler, a pump or underfloor heating and not sure what else goes with it? A diagram will help. The parts on it are numbered, and when you tap a number the matching product from our shop appears; below the diagram you will find a list of parts with links to the range. Choose the set-up you are working on.

Connecting a hot water cylinder to the boiler

The boiler heats the cylinder through a heat exchanger, and a zone valve alternately feeds the heating and the hot water. The drinking-water side must have a safety group.

Backup power supply for the boiler and pump

A backup power supply (UPS) is connected between the socket and the boiler. When the power fails, it runs both the boiler and the pump from its battery; its rating is chosen according to the total power consumption of the two.

Underfloor heating and radiators on one boiler

Radiators need hotter water than underfloor heating. The underfloor circuit therefore gets its own mixing valve with a pump, and a hydraulic separator keeps the two circuits apart.

Underfloor heating manifold installation

The manifold distributes water to the individual underfloor heating circuits. It comes with shut-off valves with thermometers, Eurocone fittings for each circuit, regulating heads and a cabinet.

Solar water heating installation

The collectors heat an antifreeze fluid, which the pump unit carries to the lower heat exchanger of the cylinder. The controller switches the pump on according to the temperature difference, and the boiler tops up the upper heat exchanger.

Domestic water pump and well installation

A home water pump draws water from a shallow well through a suction hose with a strainer; from a deep well or a borehole the water is lifted by a submersible pump. A pressure vessel with a pressure switch keeps the pressure in the pipework.

Circulation pump installation

The pump is fitted with shut-off valves on both sides, so that it can be replaced without draining the system. The diagram shows the fittings, the protection of the system and the power supply of the pump.
