The Vaillant flexoCOMPACT exclusive VWF 118/4 heat pump is a compact ground/water (or water/water) type heat pump with an integrated 185-liter stainless steel hot water tank directly in one unit cabinet. Thanks to this, it has an installation area of only approx. 0.35 m² and is an ideal solution for smaller technical rooms, where a separate tank would take up too much space. The unit is delivered including the separation module fluoCOLLECT 11/4 SI, the touch controller sensoCOMFORT 720, and the internet gateway VR 940f.

What is flexoCOMPACT exclusive and why choose it
flexoCOMPACT exclusive is a compact version of the flexoTHERM exclusive range, which combines a heat pump and a hot water tank in one cabinet. Therefore, it is an ideal choice where space in the boiler room or technical room is limited, but the customer does not want to compromise on performance or comfort of hot water preparation. The unit flexibly uses the energy stored in the ground or groundwater (in combination with the outdoor unit aroCOLLECT also air), just like the classic flexoTHERM exclusive.
The unit carries the Green iQ label, which Vaillant uses to mark products with advanced, sustainable and highly efficient technology with the possibility of intelligent internet connection. The integrated 185-liter stainless steel tank covers the normal hot water consumption of a household with 3 to 4 people without the need to buy a separate tank.
The fluoCOLLECT 11/4 SI separation module is also part of the delivery, which hydraulically separates the primary heat source circuit (ground collector/drilling) from the heat pump refrigeration circuit and thus simplifies the installation and maintenance of the entire system.
Control and remote control
The system controller sensoCOMFORT 720 with a color touch display controls the entire heating system, including hot water preparation in the integrated tank, equithermal control, multiple heating circuits and the summer mode of active cooling. It allows setting weekly heating and hot water heating programs.
The internet gateway VR 940f connects the heat pump to the internet and allows its remote control from a mobile app – setting the temperature, heating program or hot water preparation is thus possible from anywhere. An authorized service technician can remotely diagnose a possible fault via the gateway without the need for an immediate site visit.
Installation and heat source
The model VWF 118/4 is connected to a low-temperature heat source according to the geological conditions of the site – a ground collector, vertical geothermal drilling or a well – in the case of using groundwater, via the supplied separation module fluoCOLLECT 11/4 SI. Thanks to its compact dimensions (floor space only 595 × 720 mm), the unit fits even into smaller technical rooms or compartments.
Connection to the heating system (radiators, floor heating or their combination) takes place in the standard way. Due to the integrated hot water tank, there is no need for separate installation and connection of an external boiler, which shortens the installation time. Installation and commissioning can only be carried out by an authorized service organization with Vaillant training, which ensures correct hydraulic connection, setting of the controller and delivery of the warranty card.

flexoCOMPACT exclusive is suitable when there is little space in the technical room – the integrated hot water tank saves space and time during installation, as an external boiler does not need to be connected.
How big a house can the VWF 118/4 heat?
With a properly dimensioned heating system (ideally floor or low-temperature heating), model 118/4 is suitable for family homes with a heat loss of approximately up to 11 kW, which in a new build with good thermal insulation corresponds to an area of about 220–300 m².
Is the integrated 185 l tank sufficient for a larger household?
For a normal household with 3 to 4 people, the integrated tank is sufficient. In the case of higher hot water consumption (more people, whirlpool, etc.), it is possible to purchase an external storage heater as an additional accessory.
Can the heat pump be used for cooling in summer?
Yes, flexoCOMPACT exclusive has standard integrated active cooling function (natural cooling) via the same distribution that is used for heating in winter.
What is the lifespan and warranty?
With regular service, the lifespan of the Vaillant heat pump is usually 20 or more years, the SCROLL type compressor is highly reliable. The product is subject to a 2-year legal warranty, an extended warranty can be agreed with an authorized service partner upon fulfilling the conditions of regular service inspections.
Can the heat pump be controlled from a phone?
Yes, thanks to the internet gateway VR 940f and the free mobile app, it is possible to change temperatures, heating programs and hot water preparation mode from anywhere with an internet connection.
