What you need for a gas combi boiler

Below you will find the products you may need for a condensing or gas combi boiler.

Every boiler of standard output intended for domestic use already includes

a mounting kit for hanging on the wall, an expansion vessel and a pump.

It never includes a thermostat or other controller, flue pipes or

filters, ball valves and other materials.

These therefore have to be ordered separately.

Hello, further to our telephone conversation I would like to ask for information about replacing a gas boiler. I need to replace an old, 17-year-old boiler in a house (broken down, lieber 24kw with a 40l hot water cylinder - which is sufficient). The house is 60 years old, built of solid brick and insulated, with a renovated heating system - korado radiators + small-bore pipes. The heated area is approx. 130 m2. The boiler is in the cellar and heats 2 storeys (90m2 first / 40m2 second). 1 bathroom located directly above the boiler (first storey). 4 people. Requirements for the boiler: - low-temperature or condensing - built-in hot water cylinder, or a boiler and cylinder package of max. 100l - option to connect a wireless thermostat. Please advise which type of boiler from your range would be suitable in my case. Is it possible to calculate the real cost saving and the payback on the difference in investment between a low-temperature and a condensing boiler (higher price of the boiler and of installation)? Thank you for your reply. Kind regards, Maroš

Hello. If you are interested in a new boiler, then definitely a condensing one. The saving compared with older gas boilers will be really considerable. For a boiler with a built-in cylinder I would point you to the protherm tiger condens https://www.atria.sk/protherm-tiger-condens-25-kkz-42/ and if you are interested in a boiler with a separate cylinder, then vaillant is worth considering https://www.atria.sk/vykurovacia-technika/kondenzacne-kotly/zostavy-kotol-a-zasobnik/vaillant/ or junkers https://www.atria.sk/vykurovacia-technika/kondenzacne-kotly/zostavy-kotol-a-zasobnik/junkers/. Hello, I am looking for a heating solution for a small house where the main heat source is solid fuel - a fireplace insert + water heat exchanger. As a backup to this system there is electric heating with its own pump. It is this backup that I need to control. Could you please advise me how to do it - which specific devices will I need? I am looking for two alternatives - an economy one: at least a programmable thermostat - I need to switch the pump and the electric heating at the same time. And a comfort one: a thermostat controlled over the internet (home WIFI). Thanks for the information, kind regards

Hello, the electric heating and the pump could be switched by an ordinary room thermostat; it can be any from this range https://www.atria.sk/vykurovacia-technika/izbove-termostaty-a-regulacie/programovatelne-termostaty/, and some of them can switch a current of up to 5A, so if the electric heating and pump together draw less than that, in theory you can switch them with the thermostat itself. If not, you will need an additional relay. You can equally use these internet thermostats https://www.atria.sk/vykurovacia-technika/izbove-termostaty-a-regulacie/gsm-web-termostaty/; Salus and Netatmo are controlled via mobile apps over the internet, the other two by text message. Have a nice day.

Hello. In my flat I have a very long pipe run from the Beretta gas boiler, which has a circulation pump, to the radiator in the living room. Are there any small circulation pumps on the market that could be fitted into the system to boost the circulation of the hot water? Thank you.

Hello, could you please advise me what would be most suitable for me? We are a family of 3, we live in a house and we only have electricity. I need a water heater, or something I can heat the house with (75m2 - 3x radiators and 1x underfloor heating in the bathroom and WC) + that gives us hot water in a cylinder for everyday use (showering, washing up). Please advise what to buy, what output we need and what cylinder capacity. Ideally it would all be in one unit. If you can, please send me a quotation directly as well. Thank you. Kind regards

Hello, in that case the only thing we can recommend is an electric boiler combined with a hot water cylinder. https://www.atria.sk/vykurovacia-technika/elektricke-kotly-a-konvektory/protherm-raja-so-zasobnikom/ . For a family of three, definitely a 120 litre cylinder and a boiler output of around 12 - 18 kW. An electric boiler with an integrated cylinder does not exist. We do not prepare quotations; we are an online shop only. All prices are current. Have a nice day.

We have a Protherm Leopard gas boiler; the gas supplier had a fault and has shut off / cancelled/ the gas supply, supposedly temporarily . I would like to ask about the possibility of heating and producing hot water with this boiler on propane-butane, whether it can be done and, if so, what I need for it; the service engineer was scared off by the idea.

I am interested in the Viesmann Vitodens 100-W 26 kW+instantaneous DHW /whether it has a comfort system like the Panther condens, immediate delivery of DHW/ or the Viesmann Vitodens 111-W 19kw+built-in stainless steel cylinder 46, and whether they have modulating control like the Protherm condens Panther 25 KKV+A or the Tiger condens 25 KK Z 21 or 42 wall-hung with weather compensation? Or the Immergas with a 60 l built-in tank, ZEUS Superior 24 kW - does it have modulating control with weather compensation like the Protherm, and comparable quality and price?

The Viessmann basic 100 series does not have modulating output control, so you cannot connect a modulating thermostat with weather compensation to it either. The higher series do have it, but that is a different price bracket altogether. Other brands such as the protherm tiger condens, or junkers , vaillant do support modulating control and weather compensation.

Hello, I would be interested in flue pipes for the Vaillant ecoTEC pro VUW INT 226/3-3 boiler . My gas fitter told me I will need two one-metre pipes and one half-metre pipe, and one flue pipe with a terminal - a cowl above the roof, plus some kind of replacement for the roof tile where the pipe passes through the roof. Could you send me a price proposal for the whole of this set? Thank you very much.

Hello, I would like to ask for advice on choosing a condensing boiler without water heating, for a 3-storey house where 1 storey has an area of 90 m2. I am interested in condensing boilers from Viessman and Buderus, but I do not know which specification to choose.

Hello. It is hard to give a responsible answer to your question; both boilers are from good brands, with good service support. Unlike Buderus, Viessmann does not have modulating output control, which may be a slight disadvantage. In any case, you will not go wrong buying either.

I am considering replacing my boiler. I have radiator heating and currently an old 12kW boiler (destila DP-12). Until now I thought condensing boilers were only for underfloor heating (lower temperature), but I see that condensing boilers work at up to 82 degrees. Can you advise me?

Hello. Yes, it is true that condensing boilers also work at 80 degrees. It is just that, to make the most of condensing mode, the boiler should run at only around 50, but you will never see any fundamental difference in the gas consumed.

Hello, on the basis of your website and the range on it, I would like to ask you for a proposal for an electric boiler for heating a house in combination with wet underfloor heating, a quotation, and the monthly and annual running costs. I am attaching the floor plan, elevations of the house and the design documentation for the underfloor heating. Summary information about the house: - location: the village of Jasenov, Humenné district - construction started spring/2011, supply and installation of the electric boiler 05/2012 - external walls 30cm porotherm brick, insulated with 20cm polystyrene, plastic triple-glazed salamander bluevolution windows, mediteran concrete tile roof, loft not lived in and not walkable, ceiling insulated with Sealection 500 spray foam 20cm thick - floor build-up 6cm rigid polystyrene, 3cm system insulation board, underfloor heating pipes, and approx. 6,5 cm of screed - there will be suspended ceilings throughout the house - the electric boiler would be located in the plant room (room no. 109), see floor plan. Heat loss of the house 8kw at an outdoor temperature of -15C and indoor 22C. I have tried to describe all the basic information about the house; if you have any further questions in order to prepare a more detailed quotation and solution, you can contact me.

Hello, the difference is mainly in the material used. A ceramic element is ceramic on the outside, while a stainless steel one is made entirely of stainless steel. But I cannot give you a responsible list of pros and cons. Nor say which is better, and so on.

Hello, I need some advice on which antikal I should buy. The pipework in the house is plastic. The supply pipe measures dia. 20 x 3,4 Elplast +. https://www.atria.sk/uprava-a-filtracia-vody/magneticka-uprava-vody/ I also need to buy https://www.atria.sk/nerezove-potrubie-dn16/ - is there a suitable seal for it that may be in contact with drinking water? I need to connect it into exactly the same size of hole in a stainless steel vessel. (the hole is already drilled.)

As for the antikal, the best-selling version is the 3/4 one; of course this is not a solution for removing impurities from the water, but for treating water hardness. The stainless steel pipe can be used for drinking water as well as for heating. You order the number of metres and the end fittings for it in the size you need; you can make the end connection at home using just a spanner, and you will find it here https://www.atria.sk/solarne-sety-a-kolektory/solarne-dvojrury/ (nut for solar sets)
