EMOS GoSmart: WiFi, ZigBee, and everything that can be connected

GoSmart is the brand of smart devices from EMOS. It combines thermostats, thermostatic heads, detectors, sockets, and irrigation timers into one app.

WiFi versus ZigBee

WiFi devices connect directly to the home router and require nothing else. This is how thermostats P56S01, P56S11 and thermostat socket P56601FR work.

ZigBee devices, for example heads P5630S and P5631S or water leak detector P56000S, require a gateway. In return, they have battery life in years, do not burden the WiFi network, and extend each other's range.

What can be set up

Weekly schedule for each room separately.
Vacation mode and quick remote temperature reduction.
Scenarios, for example, turn off the socket with the washing machine upon detecting a water leak.
Mobile notifications in case of smoke, carbon monoxide, or flooding.
Overview of temperatures and heating run times for the past days.

Practical tip for installation

Add the thermostat and heads to the app before installation, while they are still at hand. For WiFi models, use a network in the 2.4 GHz band, as these devices do not support the 5 GHz band. If your router has one name for both bands, temporarily separate them during pairing.

Frequently asked questions

Does the heating work if the internet goes down?

Yes. The thermostat retains the last schedule and temperature, only the mobile control is lost.

Can GoSmart be connected to Google or Alexa?

Yes, the app supports both voice assistants. The connection is done once in the account settings.
