Water leak detector EMOS: boiler and washing machine protection

A small leak can cause more damage than a broken pipe because no one knows about it for a long time. A water leak detector costs a fraction of the price of floor repair.

How it works

The probe has two contacts on the bottom side. When water bridges them, the device triggers a siren and, in the GoSmart version, sends a notification to your mobile phone. It is powered by a battery, so it works even during a power outage.

Where to place it

• Under the washing machine and dishwasher, at the lowest point of the floor.
• Into the boiler room at the circulation pump, expansion tank, and safety valve.
• To the underfloor heating distributor, where leaks often appear at the manifolds.
• Under the water heater, especially if it is located above a living room.
• Into the water meter shaft or at the household water supply.

What to do with the alert

In the GoSmart app, a scenario can be assigned to the detector. The most common use is to turn off a smart socket with the washing machine or to turn on the siren. If you have a motorized water shutoff valve, it can be closed using the same scenario.
