EMOS ZigBee digital heads: savings without heating renovation

The digital head looks like a regular thermostatic head, but it has a motor and its own program. It can be replaced in two minutes and heating is controlled room by room.

Which valves they fit

Heads P5630S and P5631S have a standard thread M30 x 1,5, used by most Heimeier, IVAR, Herz or Honeywell valves. Older Danfoss RA or RAV valves require an adapter, which is usually included in the packaging or can be purchased separately.

Where they make the most sense

• Bedroom: lower temperature at night, higher before waking up in the morning.
• Children's room: different mode during the day and different on weekends.
• Study and guest room, which are heated only occasionally.
• Bathroom: short morning and evening heating.

What the head cannot do

The head regulates the flow to the radiator, not the boiler operation. Therefore, even with a full set of heads, keep a room thermostat in the reference room to switch the boiler on and off. Otherwise, it may happen that all heads close and the boiler runs idle.

In practice, savings range around 10 to 15 percent of heating costs, especially in households that are empty during the day.
